Bethany Miller Joins the Education Philanthropy Team

We’re pleased to welcome Bethany Miller to Ascendium’s Education Philanthropy team as deputy director - learning & impact. In this newly established role, Bethany will provide opportunities for the team to create, share and retain knowledge from our metrics, evaluations and internal learning practices, so we can not only purposefully strengthen our strategy and operations, but also inform the field in support of greater impact for learners from low-income backgrounds.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Bethany to our team,” said Director - Education Philanthropy Rebecca Villarreal. “Bethany’s experience as a social-sector strategist working at the nexus of philanthropy, evaluation and education to support learners from low-income backgrounds brings an unparalleled value to our work.”

"It’s a great honor to join Ascendium,” remarked Bethany Miller. “I’m excited to further develop and lead the team’s approach to learning because our learning is a critical steppingstone to achieving better results for low-income learners in a dynamic and complex postsecondary education and workforce training systems.”

Bethany comes to us most recently from The Kresge Foundation where she worked as a senior program officer on their education program team. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Smith College and a master’s degree in public affairs from Princeton University.
