Credit Mobility Resources that Center the Success of Today’s Learners

Ascendium understands that today’s learners are more mobile than ever. They acquire credits and skills across multiple institutions, programs, jobs, and geographies, at different points in time after high school. Learners from low-income backgrounds who experience credit loss or don’t receive adequate credit for prior learning face an even steeper climb toward completing a credential. That’s why we believe it’s important that all relevant learning experiences and skills be validated and counted toward education and workforce credentials.

With that goal in mind, we’ve supported many efforts to develop, test, and implement at scale promising practices and solutions that improve credit mobility and support learner success. The following resources, created by our partners, help practitioners better understand the landscape of credit mobility and bring awareness to solutions that center the success of today’s learners. With a better understanding and solutions in hand, postsecondary leaders can adopt and scale credit mobility practices that ultimately help more learners from low-income backgrounds complete a credential that leads to a good job.
