Ascendium-Sponsored Practitioner Fellowships

Teachers College, Columbia University|$58,200|11/2019 - 11/2019
This grant supports attendance of 14 community college practitioners and developmental educators as fellows at the 2019 conference of the Center for the Analysis of Postsecondary Readiness. Educators, policymakers, researchers, students, and other stakeholders attending this conference will discuss the latest research in the field and come away with a clearer sense of how states and institutions can better support students on the path to college and career success.

Ascendium-Sponsored Convening Fund

Excelencia in Education Inc|$55,000|10/2019 - 11/2019
This grant supports a convening of ten institutional teams at Excelencia in Education’s Alignment Institute to examine alignment of institution’s data and leadership strategies to develop a framework for serving their Latino students.

Accelerated Study in Association Programs-Ohio replication

This grant supports MDRC in implementing and evaluating a replication of the ASAP program model at three community colleges in Ohio to determine the scalability of the approach, one of the most effective interventions for increasing graduation rates among low-income community college students with developmental education needs.

This grant supports Achieving the Dream in transitioning its current coaching model to a customized coaching and strategic assistance service for community colleges seeking to increase student access and retention.

This grant supports The Aspen Institute in creating a set of tools to help community colleges improve students’ labor market outcomes through replicable, evidence-based practices and strategies for strengthening employer collaboration.

Career Ready Internship Grant-Four-year institution program evaluation

MDRC|$413,999|4/2016 - 6/2019
This grant supports MDRC in evaluating Ascendium's Career Ready Internship program. MDRC will analyze data from each of the 33 CRI sites and conducting student and employer surveys to assess impact on student persistence and experience, college-employer relationships, program implementation and scale and sustainability.
