Data Collection and Reporting of College Students with Incarceration Histories: An Update From the Field

Based on a national study of 11 institutions, the brief provides practical guidance for integrating learners with a history of incarceration into institutional data systems — an essential step toward ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed. Because the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System does not require institutions to track this data, many schools enroll these learners without a clear understanding of their experiences or outcomes.
